R&I Physico-Chemist & Colloïdal Scientist - Milan

As a Steering Committee of the worldwide Hydrogen Council, our client's mission is to boost the progress of a Green Hydrogen economy by focusing on advanced technologies and materials enabling more efficient and safer production, conversion and delivery of green hydrogen in particular.

We are looking for an R&I Physico-Chemist & Colloidal Scientist to support the understanding of the new polymerization systems and to develop customer formulations, working in strong collaboration with both application and polymerization teams enabling the sustainable and industrial volume growth of specialty polymers and customer applications.

In this role you will:

• Manage internal polymer processes development support in project mode.
• Manage customers polymer formulations, with a clear focus on creating sustainable based & circular based additives and solvents solutions.
• Scout & define the formulation levers to reach global interfaces performance thanks to physico-chemical tests including rheology, particle size, stability of rheology, stability of particle size.
• Handover the optimized preparation recipes & protocols to polymerization chemists and to application development teams (ex: membranes, electrodes, diaphragms, catalysts, radical scavengers, fibers,...)
• Support the scale-up till industrial scale reliability.
• Propose & develop new applicability tests & protocols on purpose (till potential transfer at customers).
• Leverage high throughput screening of additives & solvents through A&R capabilities (ex: in LOF Bordeaux).
• Establish Minimum Viable Solutions to reach performance targets before reaching.
• Collaborate with R&I lab polymerization chemists on a worldwide basis.
• Collaborate with R&I application lab teams on a worldwide basis.
• Collaborate with the physico-chemist experts from other R&I Centers of the Group on a worldwide basis.
• Collaborate with solvents & additives suppliers as well as characterization & application testing technology providers on a worldwide basis.
• Adhere to and improve safety culture in the workplace, in particular ensuring compliance with safety regulations, policies and procedures.
