We are looking for:

•  Dedicated to Aquivion polymerization, post-treatment & finishing production lines.
•  Support running EPO’s to qualify the new products and changes in the production process.
•  Consolidate the new processes and capabilities to produce new products.
•  Follow and improve the current and the new technology production performances (product quality and process consistency, opex, capex, environmental compliance).
•  Be the interface between R&I, Process technology, and Production teams to scale-up innovations.
•  Organize support activities for the design and start-up of new production lines.
•  Keep the focus on productivity performance (OEE) through the ownership of the overall improvement action plan
•  Tracking and communicating key unit performance measurements related to productivity and yields
•  Ensure the compliance of environmental emissions and the achievement of sustainability targets.
•  Developing and implementing capital projects (as assigned) to support improvements
•  Supporting maintenance team to improve plant reliability identifying and solving recurring equipment problems.
•  Participating in setting up workflows to facilitate production at higher rates.
•  Serving as subject matter expert for shopfloor personnel training to reinforce good manufacturing practices.
•  Ensuring safe operations by identifying and resolving gaps.
•  Participate in PSM, more specifically in Follow-Up Incident investigations as needed.
•  Connected to upstream monomer's raw materials production lines.
•  Connected to Aquivion Quality, R&I, and Process technology teams.
•  Operationally reporting to the Plastomer unit manager.
•  Functionally supported and reporting to the Process technology function for industrialization.

You will bring:

Education and experience

• Master Degree or Ph.D. in chemical process engineering, chemical engineering in the field of suspension/emulsion polymerization and polymers post-treatment related chemical and process engineering unit operations (dispersion, drying, separation, purification).
•  10 years of relevant working experience.
•  Industrial site experience in innovation technology transfer and industrialization.
•  Experience in working in polymer synthesis extrapolation pilots or small industrial units is a plus
•  Additional background in organic chemistry and/or materials science is a plus.
•  Industrial experience in Research and Innovation (R&I) polymerization pilots is a plus.

Technical skills

• Six Sigma methodologies and project management skills.

• Knowledge of radical polymerization and fluorine organic chemistry is a plus.

We are looking for:
 
The Senior Process Engineer will be a member of the Process Engineering  team that is responsible for the industrial roadmap, process design and improvements as well as supporting the  safe, reliable and cost effective operations. The engineer will work on major capital projects as well as on optimization of unit operations and new product industrialization.
The main responsibilities for a Process Engineer can be summarized as follows:

• Design a process and a plant starting from the product development at laboratory and / or pilot scale to arrive, through data interpretation and process modeling, to the industrial scale up; this activity requires close collaboration with the Research and Development group.
• Conduct process simulations and calculations on unit operations to prepare technical documentation related to a new process, including heat and material balances, P&IDs, equipment and instrument specifications and evaluation of all safety aspects.
• Collaborate with the Engineering function in the development of the basic design and provide support to the detailed engineering phase.
• Contribute to improve the performances of existing installations or revamp existing sections or designing new ones, in close contact with the Production Manager and production team.
• Support running industrial trials to qualify new products and changes in the production process being a key interface between R&I and Production teams. Assess process changes needs to get to full industrialization of new products and process steps.

You will bring:
Education and experience

• A solid technical background, and master Degree or Ph.D. in chemical process engineering are required. 
• Demonstrated ability in chemical process design; polymers preferred.
• Four to eight years of relevant experience, in process engineering and industrialization roles, are required.

We are looking for:

An R&I Physico-Chemist & Colloïdal Scientist to develop customer formulations and to support the understanding of the new polymerization systems, working in strong collaboration with both polymerization and application teams enabling the industrial competitive and sustainable volume growth of specialty polymers products and customer applications:

• Manage internal polymer processes development support in project mode
• Manage customers polymer formulations, with a clear focus on creating sustainable based & circular based additives and solvents solutions
• Scout & define the formulation levers to reach global interfaces performance thanks to physico-chemical tests including rheology, particle size, stability of rheology, stability of particle size
• Handover the optimized preparation recipes & protocols to polymerization chemists and to application development teams (ex: membranes, electrodes, diaphragms, catalysts, radical scavengers, fibers,...)
• Support the scale-up till industrial scale reliability
• Propose & develop new applicability tests & protocols on purpose (till potential transfer at customers)

• Support application research and development of ionomers (polymers with ionic properties) for H2 production (electrolysis) and H2 conversion (fuel cells) applications. Your objectives will be
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop membranes for fuel cell and water electrolysis.
  • Support ionomer formulation and coating development activities for cast and impregnated membranes making.
  • Correlate material and processing parameters with performance of membrane and electrode.
  • Execute screening and durability evaluation of membrane and electrode.
  • Plan and perform a wide range of testing protocols, including performance, reliability and durability, for membrane and electrode in fuel cell and water electrolysis setup.
  • Report results analysis and  key findings.
  • Understand the effect of chemical modifications of the ionomers on membrane and electrode performance and durability.
  • Support failure analysis and post mortem evaluation of membrane and electrode.
  • Assist in the review and monitoring of patent/scientific literature relevant to our products/technology.
  • Collaborate within an internal and external worldwide network of application labs to exchange and develop best practices and bring the best in class solutions to customers.
