Membranes Research Scientist for Hydrogen Platform

As a Steering Committee of the worldwide Hydrogen Council, our client's mission is to boost the progress of a Green Hydrogen economy by focusing on advanced technologies and materials enabling more efficient and safer production, conversion and delivery of green hydrogen in particular.

 

We are looking for someone to support application research and development of ionomers for H2 production (electrolysis) and H2 conversion (fuel cells applications).

You will be:

  • Working with a multidisciplinary team on development of membranes for fuel cell and water electrolysis.
  • Developing membranes for fuel cell and water electrolysis with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Correlate material and processing parameters with performance of membrane and electrode.
  • Support ionomer formulation and coating development activities for cast and impregnated membranes making.
  • Plan and perform a wide range of testing protocols, including performance, reliability and durability, for membrane and electrode in fuel cell and water electrolysis setup.
  • Execute screening and durability evaluation of membrane and electrode.
  • Report results analysis and key findings.
  • Understand the effect of chemical modifications of the ionomers on membrane and electrode performance and durability.
  • Support failure analysis and post mortem evaluation of membrane and electrode.
  • Collaborate within an internal and external worldwide network of application labs to exchange and develop best practices and bring the best in class solutions to customers.
  • Assist in the review and monitoring of patent/scientific literature relevant to our products/technology.

 

An ideal candidate would have:

Education and Experience

  • Master Degree or Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in polymeric membrane formulation and fabrication.
  • Experience in membrane electrode assemblies is a plus.
  • Experience in fuel cells, batteries, membranes, or other electro-chemical devices.
  • Experience in polymers chemistry, polymers physics and characterization is a plus.
  • Industrial experience in Research and Innovation (R&I) is a plus.

Skills

You will get

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $90,000 to $130,000. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
