R&I Chemical Process Engineering

As a Steering Committee of the worldwide Hydrogen Council, our client's mission is to boost the progress of a Green Hydrogen economy by focusing on advanced technologies and materials enabling more efficient and safer production, conversion and delivery of green hydrogen in particular.
We are looking for R&I chemical process engineer to develop and scout the scalable technologies to enable the industrial competitive and sustainable volume growth of specialty polymers products and their recycling processes.
You will be:
- Scouting, designing, experimenting and operating new process unit operations at lab and pilot scale.
- Establishing process block diagrams and preliminary R&I technical package for scaling-up.
- Dealing with all kinds of physico-chemical transformations of organic & mineral products, including chemical reactions, polymerization reactions, mixing, separation, purification, drying, solid form generation unit operations.
- Supporting the qualification of the new technologies and of the product quality at industrial scale.
- Performing preliminary material balance and thermal balance for achieving the most economically & environmentally competitive solution.
- Developing process solutions for the recycling of the main product(s).
- Supporting plant troubleshootings requiring R&I capabilities.
- Developing process solutions for co-product(s) and/or effluent(s) management, including internal recycling.
- Collaborating with the other R&I Centers of the Group on a worldwide basis.
- Collaborating with technology providers on a worldwide basis.
- Collaborating with upstream raw materials production lines and with downstream product application development labs.
- Collaborating with R&I lab polymerization chemists, analysts, pilot teams and with industrial Technology & Operations teams.
An ideal candidate would have:
Education and Experience
- Master Degree or Ph.D. in Chemical process engineering, Chemical engineering, Material science.
- Industrial site experience in innovation technology transfer and industrialization is a plus.
- Six Sigma methodologies and project management skills is a plus.
- Additional background in organic chemistry and/or materials science is a plus.
- Experience in working in chemical or polymer synthesis, post-treatment, post-processing, finishing, recycling extrapolation pilots or small industrial units is a plus.
- Industrial experience in Research and Innovation (R&I) polymerization pilots is a plus.
- Fluent Italian and English, written and spoken.
- 5 or more years of working experience.
